Our mission
At Quantum Bits, our mission is to inspire and empower middle school students through robotics, innovation and teamwork. Founded in 2019 within the First Lego League, we are a dedicated team of nine, driven by creativity, collaboration and a commitment to excellence.
Our team ethos, encapsulated by the principle of B.I.R.D – Back up, we strive for five consecutive robot mission successes, record daily activities in the engineering notebook and maintain version backups, guides our every effort. We believe in instilling caution, perseverance and resilience in our members as they tackle challenges in both robotics and life.
Through active involvement in brainstorming, idea selection and project development, we promote critical thinking, problem solving and project management skills. We harness diverse perspectives by running surveys and collaborating with industry professionals, ensuring our innovation projects are robust and impactful.
By using Slack as our primary communication platform, we promote efficient organization, collaboration, and effective communication among team members. Dedicated channels for project sections and competitions facilitate streamlined discussions and assignment of tasks, empowering students to articulate and defend their viewpoints convincingly.
Beyond technical prowess, we prioritize cultivating interpersonal skills through networking with other teams and intensive interview preparation. These interactions not only improve networking skills, but also nurture social skills, self-reflection and adaptability among our members.
To keep team morale high and foster a sense of camaraderie, we organize extracurricular activities such as laser tag and picnics, strengthening bonds and teamwork beyond the realm of competition.
