Wiffle ball

Welcome to wiffle ball

Wiffle ball is all about playing baseball at a smaller scale

What you have to do?

In wiffle ball you have to  play using a perforated light-weight plastic ball and a long hollow plastic bat. Two teams of one to five players each attempt to advance imaginary runners to home plate, and score, based on where each batter places the ball on the field. The term Wiffle ball may refer to the sport as a whole, or the ball used in the sport. Wiffle is a registered trademark of Wiffle Ball, Inc. and was derived from the slang word whiff meaning to strike out.

Famous wiffle ball players

Shane Anderson

One of only two players to participate in The Wiffle Ball Championship every year since 2005, Shane Anderson has been a model of consistency regardless of the team he has suited up for. At the time of his induction, no player has played in more Hometown Cup Finals, as Anderson has made eleven appearances at Migley(wiffle ball field).

John Arndt

John Arndt has made his name in wiffleball mostly outside of New Carlisle. The slugger is most well known as the captain of the Looney Wifflers, champions in Mishawaka in 2000. But John has also been a prominent figure in his hometown. Most notably, he was the winner of the inaugural Home Run Derby in 2005, and has won four more titles.

Nick Arndt

With one of the purest home run swings the game has ever seen, Nick Arndt was the preeminent power hitter in the first part of the last decade. Arndt was the first to three-peat in the Home Run Derby, winning in 2010, 2011, and 2012. After a year hiatus, he returned to win his fourth Golden Bat in 2014. He made a cameo at the 2016 Derby, but has largely stepped away from wiffleball for the past several years.
